About us

The foundation was created by a group of involved Belarusian activists who strive

to improve the lives of emigrants in Poland. The war and political repressions forced many people

to leave their country and caused many difficulties the refugees meet daily.

To help migrants get used to their new life, we have developed several educational programs

– free online course “Polaris. Leader of Civic Initiatives” and “Women's Leadership”.

We launched a free shelter for families with children from Ukraine

who were fleeing the war.

Since March, more than 30 women with children have been able to stay in the shelter.
In August 2022, the foundation organized a women's club in Warsaw "Women PRO"
with advantageous advisers and experts’ meetings in various fields being held every week.

Our projects
Our projects
The first project of the foundation was an educational course for leaders of democratic changes in Belarus that was launched due to Solidarity Fund PL support.

The next program was the "Women's Leadership" course, implemented with the help of the German Marshall Fund.

From the very beginning of the Russian war against Ukraine we claimed our solidarity with Ukrainian people as victims of this brutal aggression. April 2022 was the starting point for a charitable shelter for mothers with children from Ukraine who had nowhere to go when coming to Poland. We are very grateful to the Belarusian diaspora in Italy and their partner – Comunità Progetto Sud for the opportunity to provide this kind of help here in Warsaw.

In August 2022, the “Women PRO” club was successfully established thanks to the Embassy of Canada to Poland.

The Foundation Zycie is sorry to inform about the completion of the “SHELTER – hospitality and integration for Ukrainian and Belarus refugees in Warsaw, Poland” project, thanks to which our foundation, together with partners Progetto Sud and with funding from the PROSOLIDAR Foundation (http://www.fondazioneprosolidar.org/), was able to provide housing to more than 50 refugees from Ukraine. Our guests were mothers with young children - those who especially needed help and support, those who lost their homes and often their closest and dearest people. From March to August 2023, the doors of our house were open to those who needed immediate help. Thanks to our Italian friends, such assistance became possible. We sincerely hope that the war in Ukraine will end soon and our guests will be able to return home, but in the meantime, we wish them that their stay on Polish soil will be calm and pleasant.

Sincerely, Zycie Foundation team
